Carlos Rizzo received his Electronic Engineer degree from Universidad Simón Bolívar (Caracas, Venezuela), where he was a member of the Mechatronics Research Group, and his MSc and PhD from the University of Zaragoza (Zaragoza, Spain), as a member of the Robotics, Perception and Real Time Group. Since 2016 he is working at Eurecat, where he is currently the Lead Researcher for the Ground Robotics Research Line.
Carlos has about ten years of experience with mobile robot’s communication, navigation and localization. He has participated in several private, national and European projects mainly about construction, inspection, search & rescue and logistics, using single and multiple ground and aerial robots in real environments, innovating in the areas of robotics navigation, 2D and 3D Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM).
