Sarine Bekarian is an Architect and Urban Technologist who has completed her Bachelor of Architecture from the Lebanese American University (Byblos, 2016) and Master in City & Technology from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (Barcelona, 2020). Her interest in self-sufficient buildings and neighborhoods are coupled with a passion in urban data analysis using artificial intelligence, machine learning and geographic information system. Throughout her education, she took a special interest in waste to energy systems and elaborated this topic in her master thesis, where she developed a tool using machine learning for sustainable micro-scale waste management system for recycling and energy production in Barcelona’s Eixample neighborhood.
Before joining IAAC’s Academic coordinator of its Master program in Robotics & Advanced Construction, she has been involved as a teaching assistant at IAAC and has practiced architecture and urban design in various companies in Beirut, Tehran and Barcelona.
