Problem Development
Due to global warming, and many other issues, the temperature is rising tremendously, 65% people suffer from heat problem.
Existing Solution
Existing current solution that exist in the market are mechanical and resource driven solution, which consumes lot of fossil fuels as well electrical consumption. Moreover, with increased used of fossil fuel carbon emission has increased tremendously, which eventually leads to increased urban heat island. Hence, a passive cooling system is necessary to implement.
Current Passive cooling Solutions
Aqua Cooler
Coolant Project
All the existing solutions that have been developed in terms of passive cooling is all related to consumption of extreme use of water in order to cool down the space upto 3-5 degree Celsius
BUT…..
What about places like this where the availability of water is minimum and people cannot spend that much amount of water to cool the space. Then a new technique needs to applied hence the use of capillary action method was very advantageous in this condition.
Buildings use the largest portion of the energy consumed in a city forheating and coolingspace, so employing a passive design strategy for construction can be a good way to deal with this situation.
Capillary Action
Capillary action is fluid flow through a narrow tube or space from surface tension, cohesion, and adhesion.
Capillary action does not require the force of gravity. In fact, liquids often rise in narrow tube in opposition to gravity.
Existing Market Solution
The paper clay air-humidifier is an earthenware object designed for the home environment. To work, it simply uses capillarity and evaporation.
Material : Composite earthenware paper clay
Liu says that his humidifier was inspired by the way trees work in nature: “The bottom water storage part is like the ground and soil. The extension curves [which are inside the water container] are like the roots of a tree absorbing water. The main part carries water upwards and radiates, like tree trunks and branches.”
Material : Clay & Ceramic
Product Introduction
Value Proposition
The value proposition for the client in this product is 2 fold. One the aesthetic value and second minimum usage of water.
Another Value proposition of this product is the Material that has been used which is plaster.
