Marita is a mathematician and a self-taught computer vision engineer, driven by her passion for robotics and space exploration. She earned her BSc in Mathematics and her MSc in Space Technologies at the University of Athens, Greece. Marita is a contributor to the NASA Astrobee Robot Software, specialising in multi-agent in-orbit proximity operations. Prior to this, she served as the CTO at PandionAI, a startup in Stockholm, Sweden, specialising in earth observation. In this role, she focused on autonomously identifying natural disasters from space. Additionally, she has worked with a variety of organisations addressing significant challenges including vision-based navigation, wildlife protection, and search & rescue operations, as well as unknown terrain mapping with the European Space Agency. Marita also dedicates her time as project coordinator for Women In Aerospace-Europe.
