AEC Industry is traditionally a lazy adopter for new technologies. Nevertheless from ImageNet or Deep Learning to GANs and LLMs accessibility to AI for the non-expert user has exponentially grown along the last 5 years.

With a clear focus on a sustainable future for the human race built environments, along the content of the sessions, the students will learn on current usage and future trends for incorporating AI into workflows in the AEC.

Rethinking Demolition: AI-Assisted Assessment for Sustainable Building Reuse

AI Theory – IAAC | Group Project by Jinesh, Rafik, Chun Chun, and Vimal The construction industry is responsible for a massive chunk of global carbon emissions, material extraction, and waste. But here’s the thing: even as sustainability becomes more important, demolition is still the go-to solution for most projects, often without anyone really asking … Read more

Compl-AI: AI system for predicting building-code compliance in residential construction

Current construction projects lack a reliable early-warning system to predict building-code compliance issues, which leads to delays, rework, safety risks and higher project cost. Traditional inspections usually occur near the end of construction. This makes it difficult to correct issues efficiently and increases the risk of delays and safety concerns. Visual problems such as unsafe … Read more
