The Design + Fabrication course instructs and engages students in the design and discovery of novel fabrication strategies through the methodological integration of matter, processes and techniques.

Syllabus

This is a hands-on course oriented towards learning and gaining experience in the use of tools and machines related to fabrication, prototyping and designing through digital fabrication tools.

The purpose is to explore the relationship between digital driven design and fabrication manufacturing, at the construction scale. The course will be based on the definition of digital fabrication techniques focused on the convergence between digital modeling and fabrication processes.

This course is part of a broader process of introducing students to Fablab as well as carpentry machines and tools. The use of these tools are integrated within the modules that are taught by various instructors as part of the MAEBB curriculum, in order to ensure students learn their use in the best possible context.
