Syllabus
WATER The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of the possible impact of good water management strategies, implemented during the initial phase of any architectonic project, on the ecological footprint and the resilience of the corresponding infrastructure. A special focus will be led on the current climate change affecting the local water cycle. Students will learn about the water saving potential of innovative water management concepts and technologies comparing to conventional project design.
ENERGY This module will teach the students the basics of energy and power within the buildings and which systems are involved. The students will learn about user profiles of energy consumption and they will create their own user case for their projects. There will be strong emphasis on the design of photovoltaic installations and their principles. In addition, students will learn about the space considerations and basics for electricity and energy within the building and new tendencies on the market for smart buildings, micro grids and district energy.
Students will get knowledge about the different renewable energies in the market and its application in buildings. In addition, they will understand the importance of reducing the energy consumptions in buildings and they will be able to have an assumption of the energy usage of their projects.
