Claudia Tomateo

Claudia Tomateo is a Research Fellow at the Urban Systems Lab (USL) at The New School University in New York City and Co-Founder of Urban Collective. She is an architect, urbanist and researcher focused on the intersection between cartographies, urban narratives and strategic design. Her focus on practical research related to urban design has led to consultancies for the Harvard Mellon Urban Initiative, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and projects in Lima, Riyadh and Chihuahua. As an educator, Tomateo is an adjunct professor in the Master of Urban Design for the Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico) and has previously taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and conducted research as a visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (Peru). Her participation as a guest critic includes universities such as Boston Architectural College, City College of New York, Columbia University, New York Institute of Technology, Syracuse University and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Claudia holds a Master of Architecture degree in Urban Design from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
