Irene Martín is a Spanish architect, urbanist and researcher. In her practice she explores artificial forms of intelligence, creating systems, processes and interfaces for the urban scale.
Irene is currently Research Fellow at the Norman Foster Foundation (NFF), United Nations (UN) Centre of Excellence, where she directs the Research and Education Unit. In her role, Irene leads various research initiatives and educational programmes that link to the execution of live projects—most assignments developed for like-minded foundations and philanthropic institutions, including the UN.
Irene graduated from the MaCAD programme at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IaaC) in 2022. At the core of her research is the belief that digital technologies are key to a more democratic, equitative and sustainable city planning.
