João M. Silva is an Architect and Software Engineer working as BIM&AI developer at BuiltCoLAB, where he leads the development of genAI software to the unique challenges of the AEC industry. Previously, he worked both as a Computational Designer and as a Robotic Fabrication expert. He is the founder of SOMA, a design practice working on potentiating social and community projects through participatory strategies. He is also a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Engineering of Porto with a thesis on the role of AI in Architectural Design. João holds a Masters in Architecture from the University of Porto (FAUP) and Moholy-Nagy (MOME) and is an IAAC alumni.
