João is an architect and software engineer currently working as a BIM and AI developer at BuiltCoLAB, as well as pursuing a PhD in the same field. He leads the development of custom software designed for the unique challenges of the AEC industry. Previously, he worked both as a computational designer and as a robotic fabrication expert. He is the founder of SOMA, a design practice working on potentiating social and community projects through participatory strategies. João holds a Masters in Architecture from the University of Porto (FAUP) and Moholy-Nagy (MOME) and is an alumni from the MACAD program at IAAC.
