Marco Pellegrino

Marco Pellegrino is a structural engineer and software developer with a strong focus on bridging advanced structural analysis with modern computational design workflows. Currently, Product Owner of the FEM-Design API at StruSoft, where I lead the development and strategy of API-driven solutions for structural engineering. Previously, I worked as an API Developer on FEM-Design, building integrations that make advanced finite element methods more accessible to engineers and developers.

Alongside my role at StruSoft, I am the founder of Alpaca4d, an open-source Grasshopper plug-in built on the OpenSees framework, designed for parametric earthquake analysis and advanced computational design workflows. Before shifting into product ownership and API development, I spent several years as a Senior Research Engineer and Structural Engineer at Format Engineers Ltd in the UK, working on innovative structural design and research projects. My work sits at the intersection of engineering, computation, and product innovation. The tools I have developed, including Alpaca4d and the FEM-Design API, reflect my passion for enabling engineers to explore new possibilities through automation, integration, and advanced analysis.
