Victoria Tiu Ixchell

Architect with academic distinction from the Mesoamerican University of Quetzaltenango and recognized for academic excellence and thesis project in the Master en Ciudades: El Urbanismo Próximo of the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia IAAC. Recognized with the Erick Barrondo Award in 2014. Her outstanding experience as a designer and member of technical teams in urban projects at local, national and international level for institutions such as Fundaeco, IDB, USAID, ICES-BID, Urban Lab among others. Winner of the First Place in the Danta Awards during the Biennial of Architecture of Guatemala 2016 with the project “Application of Design and Digital Fabrication for the Development of New Models of Productive Housing”. Active participation in national and international competitions, including the URBAN LAB PANAMA Competition and the Disaggregated City in 2015, as well as the International Mass Housing Competition in 2013 and in 2020 together with the team in Red, winners of the first place in the architectural proposal for the new College of Architects of Guatemala. Her trajectory also includes roles in Studio Cero as an Architect and implementer in Parametric Design in 2017 and 2018, and as an Architect and designer at Novak Architects in 2019. Currently, she serves as Manager and Director of Design at Kolem Estudio of which she is co-founder, and as Architectural and Urban Design Consultant at Grupo Innovaterra. She is a professor at the Master en Ciudades: El Urbanismo Próximo of the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia IAAC.
