Heat is a form of energy that can be transferred between objects or systems due to a temperature difference. It is a manifestation of the internal energy of a substance or a system, resulting in the motion of its constituent particles.

Heat can be transferred through three main mechanisms

Phase 1_Device

How can we control direction of heat?

Plate is rotated by Arduino motors that responds to temperature sensors. As plate rotates, direction of heat is changed. When on of sensor reads certain temperature plate rotates in other direction and vice versa.

Phase 2_Smallest Architecture

How can user benefit from the heat?

Cool air is directed in chimney and also direction of airflow is controlled with rotating plate in chimney.

Phase 3_Self Sufficient Building

A multi-storey residential house, located in the heart of Mallorca, an ancient town Sineu.

The building has a passive ventilation system, which works on two environmental phenomenons: evaporative cooling + hot air rising. This combination allows to create air flow inside the building and its configuration provides inhabitants with an opportunity to manipulate this airflow to create comfortable thermal conditions throughout a day/year. Building organization is based on the goal to make this system provide equal conditions for each block.
