COMPUTATIONAL DESIGN G07
“FORCES OF NATURE”
The “Forest Pavilion” has a computer generated form composed of multi pipes, where the parameters are based on form finding strategies of point collision (kangaroo parameters), these forms are then once again processed (through kangaroo) to create angularity and turned into strips for digital fabrication.
STATE OF THE ART
FORM OF WANDER
Location: Tampa, Florida
Year: 2018
The Riverfront Park is a recreational space that appears to float between water and land. The structure is to receive outdoor activities, symbolizing an inverted mangrove. The structure was made to resist forces of the wind, where the pieces where riveted in place composed by 3.123 parts made up a double layer structure, with rings forming the interior layer of the columns and strips cross-laminating as an exterior skin to compose the branching elements.

UNDER MAGNITUDE
Location: Orlando Florida
Year: 2016
The design proposes a lower sub-ceiling suspended in the atrium of the center n a 25´H x 30´W x 45´D distributed network. The concept behind it “has edges yet is edgeless” that unify the skin, structure and spatial experience into a single system. There are 4.672 ultrathin aluminium stripes and 103.723 rivets. The material thickness is just a millimeter, the strength is achieve by “intensive curvature”

BASE GEOMETRY | BEHAVIOURS
Depending on the curve path, the geometry changes to accomodate by creating space.
