“An interactive journey where light and motion respond to your presence, creating the illusion of infinite depth.”

Concept

The Infinite Tunnel is an interactive installation designed to immerse participants in a dynamic play of light and motion. At its core, the project uses a light sensor to adjust LED blinking speeds based on ambient daylight, creating a responsive environment that changes with natural conditions. Additionally, as participants move through the tunnel, a motion sensor detects their presence, triggering faster, dynamic circular patterns on a large visual board. This interplay between adaptive lighting and reactive motion transforms a static space into a captivating illusion of infinite depth, merging technology with experiential design.

How It Works

Sensors:

            Light Sensor (LDR):

Detects the intensity of ambient daylight.

Adjusts the blinking speed of LEDs: slower in brighter environments and faster in dimmer conditions, enhancing the immersive experience based on natural light.

            Ultrasonic Sensor:

Measures the distance of participants as they move through the tunnel using sound waves.

Triggers the LED matrix animations when a participant is detected within a specified range, responding dynamically to their presence.

System Response:

            LED Array:

Sequentially blinks LEDs along the tunnel walls in pairs, creating a flowing rhythm of light.

The speed of the blinking adapts to the ambient light, offering a synchronized and atmospheric experience.

            LED Matrix (MAX7219):

Displays dynamic patterns of shrinking and expanding squares, simulating an illusion of infinite depth.

Animation speed increases as participants move closer, creating a sense of acceleration and interaction.

Result:

A responsive and interactive installation that adapts to both environmental light and user movement.

Combines light and motion to create the captivating effect of being drawn into an infinite tunnel, engaging participants in a sensory-driven journey.
