Good Day Sunshine is a lightweight canopy that shapes space through light and structure. A flowing membrane stretches between fixed frames, forming a series of vaulted bays that create shade while allowing controlled openings for sunlight to pass through. The surface is organized by a triangulated structural network that gives strength to the thin skin and defines moments of enclosure and openness. As the sun moves, light filters through the patterned openings, casting shifting shadows and creating a dynamic atmosphere beneath the canopy.
Site Solar Analysis
The solar analysis revealed that the surrounding buildings are not providing shade on the site. Hence, the shaded pavilion corresponding to the sun vectors of particular time range was conceptualised.
