Studio Libeskind / Milan Expo 2015
CONCEPT
The 800-square meter pavilion on Lake Arena’s southeast edge features a sinuous design, blending indoor and outdoor spaces. A grey concrete staircase leads to a rooftop garden with stunning views. Symbolizing Chinese life, the pavilion represents growth and endurance, fostering unexpected interactions with the surrounding public space.
It is adorned with over 4,000 red metalized tiles. These geometric ceramic panels form a dragon-like pattern while also offering sustainable self-cleaning and air purification properties.
