MANIFEST

Alambique is an innovative housing project that explores the experience and integration of heat and water systems. The design revolves around a central core, which serves as the structural support and houses the vertical pipes responsible for moving up hot vapor. Surrounding the core are the bedroom, bathroom, living area, and kitchen, all constructed using wooden slabs and interconnected with hot water pipes that create walls and furniture. To maintain the heated water within the pipes, it is crucial to orient certain rooms towards the south, harnessing the power of sunlight. These parameters define the characteristics of each individual unit.
In order to create a community of Alambique dwellings, we envision clustering between 10 and 100 units along a coastline. These units will be thoughtfully arranged, taking into account factors such as the sun’s path, the shading effects caused by the surrounding terrain and buildings, as well as the optimization of distances between each unit. Additionally, to maximize the benefits of the ocean’s proximity and yet not lose the support of the terrain, we will position the units slightly offset from the coastline, ensuring integration with the natural environment.
