The key point I want to emphasize here is the upcycling of rice husks to unlock greater value. While converting rice husks into biomass for energy or biofuels is a positive and sustainable use, my approach goes further. we propose exploring higher-value applications where rice husks are not just burned for energy, but transformed into functional materials
As we can see in this data chain, from million tons of corn cobs are harvested annually., only around 9 million tons are currently used in the building industry—mainly as a composite material combined with earth or binders.
Research Question
Both materials, as shown here, perform really well when it comes to sound and heat insulation.
Client Requirements : parametric , modular , efficient, easy to assemble and reassembly wall cladding system and furniture and they gave us two spaces with these two areas
For wall cladding system we designed dynamic folding frame with push and pull mechanism to transport and move easily and also make it comfortable for assembly and reassembly panels on it
4 types of different design which are flat, diffusion and curved
Based on our simulation results, we found that curved panel shapes perform best according to the data we collected.
Based on the mechanical and CNC tests conducted on the panels, the sample made from 100% corn demonstrated the best overall performance, showing superior durability and strength.
