This module will focus on practical visual storytelling strategies and skills through the work of MASS Design Group’s film team. Through case studies and exercises this course aims to equip students with the ability to leverage media production towards implementing their design goals.

OBJECTIVE 1 // Strategic media planning

Students will be shown different approaches to planning media projects based on messaging and distribution goals, determining media concepts, film storytelling techniques and structures, and overall processes of media project management.

OBJECTIVE 2  // Pre-production and production practices

Students will gain a high-level understanding of the major concepts of film pre-production and production.

OBJECTIVE 3 // Complimenting stories using architectural visualization 

Students will learn how to use Lumion to create animations that complement the overall story they are trying to tell.

OBJECTIVE 4  // Post-production and media distribution

Students will gain an understanding of the post-production process including how to use Davinci Resolve as a non-linear editor. They will also learn about different media distribution strategies that reach their target audiences.
