Its a Web App that you can easily design and visualize a basic curtain wall, considering both its scale, appearance and an estimated material cost.

Inputs and Outputs

For the inputs the user has 4 main inputs which are the width and height of the typology which they want to analyze, then the panel division in the vertical and horizontal axis. This will automatically give us the output below with the glazing panels and all.

.

Secondary outputs:

The color of the glazing used is one of the important output to visualize the curtain wall as a whole and it also plays a role in the cost.

Last but not least the input of the fixing height, this input is mainly for profile recommendation, in practical real life examples the process is more complex and needs more and more inputs than the fixing height, so for the web app i decided to keep it simple and give a general warning message for the profile selection upon the design configuration that the user has made through the previous inputs.

In the back end of the process of this message lays a wind load calculation that analysis how much inertia that the mullion profile has to have in order to be safe from the wind loads. For now the wind load is calculated for Cairo, Egypt.

For the outputs we get the following:

The whole geometries for visualization, Panel sizes and numbers, Mullion profile bars needed to be purchased same for transom profiles, area and accessories such as silicon structure needed.

User interface:

As for the user inter face the inputs were placed at the left side having the Width and height as number sliders but the panels division and glazing color as dropdown lists, with the fixing height as a number slider also.

for the app i have incorporated the compute button so that the user can make multiple changes at once rather than waiting for every result for 3 – 4 seconds which can be frustrating.

Finally a bit of a fun part that the UI color changes with the glazing color chosen.
