The project is set in the left sacristy of the Sagrada Família, positioned on the Nativity façade side. As one of the key auxiliary spaces of the basilica, the sacristy serves as a preparatory and ceremonial area for religious functions.
The sacristia adjacency to the Nativity façade, known for its intricate organic forms and symbolic storytelling, aligns seamlessly with our concept of architectural growth. By integrating Gaudí’s nature-inspired methodologies with parametric and generative design, the reimagined sacristy evolves as a living structure, deeply rooted in its context while embracing modern innovation

The Gaudí Workshop

This project explores computational design through the reimagination of the Sagrada Família’s sacristy. Inspired by Gaudí’s organic forms and structural innovations, this project makes an attempt to integrates parametric and generative design to reinterpret his forward-thinking approach. By blending nature-inspired geometries with Gaudí’s ahead of the time thinking, we aim to create a sacristy that evolves like a living organism, growing, adapting, and embracing light through intelligent design.

The project draws inspiration from Gaudí’s architectural language, incorporating the dynamic flow of hyperbolic spiral staircases, the structural efficiency of Catalan vaults, and the organic elegance of arched forms to create a design that harmonizes with nature.

Concept : Geometries In Nature

Like a tree emerging from a bud, the sacristy symbolizes growth and transformation. Its layered
leaf system hosts workshops that deepen the exploration of Gaudí’s visionary thinking. At its
core, the twisting dome opens to light, representing enlightenment and discovery. Using
computational design, we materialize this organic evolution, where structure, form, and spatial
experience merge into a dynamic, living architecture.
