Light Tunnel is a light installation that offers individuals an immersive experience that varies as the day progresses. The goal of this space is to create a unique experience for each person that walks through it, while making use of the environment around it. The LEDs that make up the interior of this tunnel installation change color depending on the amount of light detected by the photoresistor LDR sensor.

The concept of this installation was inspired by various existing immersive experiences, all involving arrays of LED bulbs arranged in a space. For instance, the installation “Hundreds and Thousands” in Sydney, Australia (Reference 1) has a similar concept to Light Tunnel, in which individuals walk through a tunnel-like structure, where this one has a porous structure that allows people through to see the outside. Similarly, the AEPioneer installation in Tehran (Reference 2) showcases an 80 meter long strip with light bulbs hung in an arch-like form, where visitors can walk through.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
After receiving feedback from the jury, I would like to further develop this installation in the following ways:
- Find better photoresistors that have higher sensitivity to play with a wider range of colours, which would create more frequent colour changes as the day goes by and people walk through.
- In my prototype, one photoresistor sensor controlled all the LEDs. Moving forward, at an architectural scale, I think it would be more dynamic to have multiple sensors linked to different patches of LEDs and explore those colour changes as each sensor detects a different amount of light.
- Finally, to truly delve into the different phenomena in an environment, I would like to explore controlling the LED’s colour changes with different types of sensors, for example: temperature and sound.
