Taking inspiration from Luis Fraguada’s Masterclass at IAAC, where he shared his journey with food 3D printing, the ups and downs of running a startup, and his dive into wearables, we’ve put together our manifesto. It’s shaped by the key insights he shared, especially around business and startups, setting the direction for our collective venture into the world of design and technology.

Manifesto:

Navigating Business and Startups with Insights from Luis Fraguada’s Masterclass

  1. Navigate the a Startup with Resilience and Insight
Luis’s journey through the challenges of entrepreneurship, especially in the regulated food space, teaches us the value of resilience. We recognize the importance of being adaptable, learning from each iteration, and making difficult decisions for the greater good of our projects.
  2. Knowing When to Pivot: Learning from Innovation’s Challenges
Luis’s journey taught us that the path to innovation isn’t always a straight line. Some ideas might not pan out as expected due to feasibility, regulatory constraints, or market realities. This lesson emphasizes the importance of being flexible and willing to reassess or shift directions when necessary, ensuring our innovations are both visionary and viable.
  3. Expanding Ones Creative Horizons
Luis’s explorations open our eyes to the endless possibilities of integrating technology with our daily lives. We see coding not just as a tool but as a canvas, on which we can paint innovative solutions that enhance and augment human experience. Exploring and learning new tools is the cornerstone of design and innovation.
  4. Value Multifaceted Collaboration for Enhanced Outcomes
Luis’s projects span across various domains, from design to gastronomy, highlighting the significance we place on collaborative efforts. Teaming up with specialists, like chefs, serves as a cornerstone in creating well-rounded results. It facilitates cross-disciplinary connections for more creative solutions, user-centric solutions.
  5. Foster an Environment of Continuous Learning and Adaptation
Luis’s iterative approach to design teaches us the value of continuous learning. Taking a somewhat loose approach defined as ‘FAFO/MAFO’. We embrace a culture where fast failures lead to more feedback and iterations that develop into a more refined result.  Eventually leading us towards a refined result and innovation.
  6. Enrich Educational Endeavors with Practical Wisdom
The insights Luis shared from his real-world experiences which enrich our approach to education. Valuing not just theoretical knowledge but practical wisdom, to tackle challenges through exploration and curiosity.
  7. Embrace Open-Source Sharing for Collective Growth
Inspired by Luis’s advocacy for open-source ethos, we commit to sharing our learnings and resources. We believe in the power of collective intelligence to drive the design community forward, fostering an environment of openness and collaboration.
  8. Innovate with Humanity at the Core
Above all, Luis’s work inspires us to put humanity at the center of our innovation efforts. We are driven to create solutions that not only push the boundaries of what’s possible but also enhance the quality of life, fostering a future where technology and design serve to bridge gaps and build connections. Our ventures are guided by a commitment to sustainability and ethical practices. We strive to innovate responsibly, mindful of our impact on the planet and society.

Enriched by Luis Fraguada’s insights and our collective aspirations, this manifesto stands as a dynamic guide for starting an entrepreneurial journey. These lessons aim to help us navigate the future of design with a spirit of collaboration, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of meaningful impact.
