The proposed vision for Tempelhof is articulated as a ‘city within a city’ arranged along the two airstrips of the former airport, extending perpendicularly to emphasise a dual directionality. Buildings are conceived as flexible micro-communities built on organic/biodegradable materials, with the possibility of growing or ‘de-growing’ through time. The design strategy aims to trigger a need … Read more
From parts to purpose – embracing circularity by redefining furniture composition Problem In contemporary furniture markets there is a problem of the environmental impact caused by inefficient design, excessive waste generation, and unsustainable consumption. Results are overproduction, resource depletion, and high carbon emissions during production processes. Additionally, limited design solutions don’t fully meet user needs, … Read more
Context Inter Disciplinary In this project, we explore the intersection of digital nomadism, autonomous mobility, and AI-enabled sensing technology. Inspired by thinkers like Tsugio Makimoto, Pierluigi Coppola, and Tim Ferriss, we aim to create an autonomous living space that supports a mobile, remote work lifestyle. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the rise of digital nomadism, … Read more
A WAY OF LIVING. MAKE ENERGY VISIBLE. MATTER MATTERS. Scalability Hygroscopic properties Thermal inertia Phase shift Dampening SITE MATTERS ROBOTIC FABRICATION SYSTEM TIME MATTERS.
The project is a two part system utilizing humidity absorption and wind capture to passively cool a building. The system incorporates salt-loaded hydrogels within a clay casing to capture and store moisture, facilitating gradual cooling through evaporation and wind flow.
The Horizon is an open space, spanning 110m x 37m (length of a whole block of Barcelona) that guides human behaviour around changing shadow patterns, which are driven by the sun’s heat. It rests on the top of the student housing building, housing all the communal areas. Communal activities around the Horizon shift, with moveable … Read more
Amphibious attachment systems for existing stilt houses to counteract flash floods along the Brahmaputra river plains in Assam, India Context The river Brahmaputra, with one of the largest tributary systems in the world, divides the state of Assam into almost two halves. This means that a large geographical area in Assam is prone to floods and … Read more
NexGen Retrofit Facades leverages AI-driven design to retrofit existing buildings in Barcelona with second skin facades, drastically improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. buildings & energy systems The building energy systems emit 771,623 tons of co2 PROBLEM Barcelona’s residential buildings, many of which were constructed before modern energy standards, significantly contribute to the city’s … Read more
Ai-assistant for Architects at early design stage Following work is envisioned as a reflection on the design principles and methodologies learned during my studies as an architect. From my early days in architecture, I was fascinated by the conceptual phase of project development. I found it truly amazing how diverse design inputs could merge into … Read more
Eu Regulations for AI integration and BIM analysis through NLP I think most of us get traumatized every time we search for a specific regulation, right? Every time it’s a nightmare that feels like a descent into madness. Especially when working in different countries, that have their own land divisions with different approaches to regulatory … Read more
Safe Maps is a web application that places citizens’ safety at the heart of urban design. By analyzing crime and spatial data, Safe Maps helps build an understanding of the relationship between safety and the urban environment. It then uses machine learning to predict safety scores based on street features, aiding citizens in safely navigating … Read more
Barcelona’s rising temperatures and the thermoregulatory effect of the sea causes the coastal neighborhoods, such as Poblenou, to have the highest temperatures recorded during the night. It is crucial for the indoor environment to remain cooler at night in order for the body to recover from the heat throughout the day, especially during the summer … Read more
Exploring architectural identity of the city with 3D GAN and Stable Diffusion with case study of Kazan This research proposes to explore the ability and accuracy in styding and representing architectural identity of the city through the set of artistic experiments with all generated 3d geometry and 2d images in order to meet expectations of … Read more
