“Being unable to speak directly about the ineffable realm of eternity, prophecy speaks of history as if from the standpoint of eternity. The brash facility with which prophecy treats notions of past, present and future is not a trick in a spectacle of prediction, but a symptom of its implicit relativizing time”
Federico Campagna, Prophetic Culture, p. 105
These drawings (particularly the elevation) attempt to gesture at the tangible temporal complexity of a place like Valldaura, which is ever changing and full of unrealized ambitions, past and future. In considering them, I was reminded of the above line from Campagna’s book Prophetic Culture, and while these by no means live up to his profundity, his thought served as inspiration for their completion.
