This project turns wind and snow into design tools. Instead of starting with a fixed form, environmental forces drive the geometry, generating adaptive architectures that evolve through performance.

Project Description
The site spans 39 acres and consists of two adjacent properties: Trumbull Park Homes, established in 1938 and owned and operated by the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA), occupies 21 acres and contains 454 housing units; and Trumbull Park, established in 1907 and owned and operated by the Chicago Park District (CPD), covers 18 acres and includes one field house and one swimming pool. According to HUD Picture (December 2024) data, 85% of households in the area earn less than 30% of the area median income, and 97% of residents identify as Black. Additionally, 42% of residents are under 18 years old, based on OnTheMap/LODES 2023 estimates.
