Our study aims to explore the history and impact of artificial intelligence on interactions of young people, examining how integrating AI technologies into everyday life influences self-perception and interpersonal interactions, ultimately transforming societal structures and relationships.
The pervasive presence of AI in the lives of young people is reshaping social norms and identities, blurring the lines between humans and machines. As AI technologies become increasingly integrated into daily life, they profoundly influence how individuals perceive themselves and interact with others, fundamentally altering the fabric of society.
One of the areas where AI is more and more present is toys, so for our research, we focused on that area. We studied the evolution of interactive toys and how AI was introduced to them.
Further on, envisioning the toys of tomorrow, we looked into how humans imagine what the future of artificial companionship will be like. These 3 stories explore the theme of artificial intelligence and Humanity, emphasizing the bonds of humans and their artificial counterparts, the quest for identity, and the questioning of self-awareness. It is impossible not to reflect on the moral and ethical implications of the creation and treatment of artificial human beings and the influence that these may have on human relationships and emotions.
In the end, an audiovisual piece we produced, portraying the human-toy relationship ranging from a basic to a more complex level of interaction.
