Throughout this class, we explored three key fabrication techniques: Laser Cutting, 3D Printing, and CNC Milling. For each method, we were challenged to develop and prototype digital fabrication solutions for a Digitally Crafted Cabin project.

For laser cutting, we used a slicing technique with acrylic. Inspired by organic shapes like spines and bones, we aimed to create translucent, organic facade elements for the cabin. Our final geometry reflects this natural inspiration

For the 3D printing, we aimed to explore different joints that allow each layer to move independently. We initially experimented with snap joints at various tolerances, then moved on to dovetail joints to enable movement in both the Z and Y directions. We also plan to incorporate opening details into our facade.
