The Adaptive Blossom Canopy stands as a smart roofing system, tailored to address the challenges of hosting outdoor events in regions characterized by scorching temperatures and erratic rainfall. Drawing inspiration from the grace of nature, its design showcases a structural framework crafted with kinetic roofing panels mirroring the petals of a four-leaf flower. Employing Arduino technology integrated with temperature and water level sensors, the kinetic roofing petals exhibit seamless adaptability, opening and closing in response to the suitability of outdoor environmental conditions. Rather than presenting itself as a fixed and imposing architectural structure, its dynamic character imparts a sense of lightness and liveliness. This, in turn, enhances the outdoor event experience by infusing vitality while simultaneously contributing to the comfort of the space

The system consists of a 360 degrees open loop Servo Motor that is connected to a pulley system of the structural framework that lifts or drops the panel petals by rotating in clockwise/anticlockwise directions. The sensors, ‘water level’ and ‘temperature and humidity’, detect the fluctuations in the environment and instruct the servo motor to rotate in the required direction based on the rules set in the arduino code. Once a certain threshold of temperature or water level is crossed, the canopy automatically closes protecting the space underneath.

Water level detection sensor trigger the canopy to close when precipitation is detected, providing instant protection against rain. The sensor is placed horizontally within a collecting container to ensure rapid response to rain by immediately submerging in water.
