The MAEBB Exhibition Space is conceived as a lightweight timber pavilion that gently rises above the existing Valldaura Labs building—a contemporary crown inspired by Herzog & de Meuron, reinterpreted through the ecological logic of locally sourced wood. Resting on a minimal peripheral frame, the structure introduces a luminous and fully reversible addition at the height of the forest canopy, providing a dedicated space to display MAEBB prototypes, material experiments, and full-scale assemblies. Its timber gridshell filters soft daylight into the interior, while an outer walkway frames panoramic views of Collserola. More than an architectural extension, the pavilion becomes a spatial manifesto of MAEBB—an elevated place where research, craft, and the surrounding forest meet in a single continuous experience.

At the same time, I worked on a Material Behaviour Mapping of the studio, documenting how the floor, walls, and furniture respond to daily use. Scratches, damp patches, discoloration, and small wear marks became clues to how the space is occupied and how materials age over time. This quick visual study turns everyday imperfections into a readable layer of information about the studio’s life and material performance.
