Plaça de Tetuan is situated at the crossroads of Gran Vía de Les Corts Catalanes and Passeig de Sant Joan in Dreta de l’Eixample district, Barcelona. derives its name from the Arabic “Ti?w?n,” meaning “Eye” or “Origin.” The square is named after the 1860 Battle of Tétouan.

In 1910 a symbol of Catalan identity, is restored and relocated to Plaza de Tetuán in 1995.

Doctor Robert Statue: The monument has a thick stone base with three fountains, a series of bronze sculptures that represent farmers, industrial workers and other members of the Catalan society. The statue is topped by a stone bust of Dr. Robert.

Concept

The project area, Plaça de Tetuan, is located at a point that can be considered the heart of the region. The elliptical square can be accessed from four sides. The trees surrounding it, the statue in the middle and its location offer a special experience to those passing by, both visually and on a city scale. For this reason, in our design approach, we aimed to preserve this organic image and create a design that is both visually inviting and focuses on the sculpture, creating a strong viewpoint.
