Site : Plaça Universitat

Bamboo is often misunderstood as an invasive species, associated with uncontrolled growth and ecological harm. However, this perception overlooks its incredible versatility, sustainability, and capacity to regenerate without depleting resources. Our project challenges this narrative, reimagining bamboo not as a problem but as a solution—a material that embodies resilience and potential.

Situated in Plaça Universitat, a very popular site, the pavilion seeks to spark dialogue and provoke curiosity, serving as more than a structure but a demonstrator of bamboo’s misunderstood value. By occupying a central space just outside the public metro station, the pavilion invites people to reconsider their preconceived notions, creating a platform for awareness and inspiring a new appreciation for bamboo’s role in sustainable design. It stands as a conversation starter, symbolizing the quiet rebellion of nature to reclaim its rightful place in harmony with urban landscapes.

Instead of using Vector Fields, the original approach, we tried a different methodology, and only referencing the aesthetics of the pavillion.
