Problem
Tersa is a public company that runs a waste incineration plant in Sant Adrià del Besòs, serving much of the Barcelona metropolitan area. Over the years, local associations and residents have raised concerns that the plant may exceed emissions limits of toxic substances and caused pollution.
Despite all the concerns, the investigating judge archived the case, concluding that there was insufficient evidence of serious environmental risk or illicit conduct.
What is Hoarder.data?
Hoarder.data is a solution development tool that collects data, generates alarms, and thus enables solutions.
It will be located around the chimneys of the plant TERSA and will identify the long-standing pollution problem.

The more data there is, the better the problem can be solved.
Besides air quality, there are many other important parameters such as wind, water quality, and pollution levels. By increasing the number and variety of sensors, we can gain comprehensive insights into the waste plant’s operations and prevent environmental pollution during waste management.
In the case of air pollution, we should implement shut-down systems that immediately stop toxic production and direct these gases to facilities where they can be safely burned or neutralized.
