Origami – LASER CUTTING

Taking inspiration from light-filtering facade systems such as that of the SDU Campus Kolding by Henning Larsen, Al Bahr Towers by AEDAS, and the Japan Pavilion for Expo 2020 by Yuko Nagayama and Associates, ORIGAMI is a facade prototype composed of a grid system to host panels or ‘flowers’ in varying nodes for shading and privacy purposes.

The structure is made of interlocked beams with folded modules which are secured with press-fit closures.
