Movement, light and sound are the 3 essential elements that compose this project. Having in mind the importance and exponential potential of technology in art, “Luminous Echoes” explores the interplay between these elements as an interactive art installation.
The installation consists of a darkened room, that when detected presence is lightened by a responsive pattern of LED lights that occupy the walls of the space. The presence and movements of the viewers will also trigger a sound response, that will vary its frequency depending on the viewers proximity to the end of the room. In this way, viewers are invited to become active participants, as the LED panels serve as a canvas for dynamic interactions and occupations of the space that can only occur with their presence.
