AURORA BOREALIS // NORTHERN LIGHTS – A STIMULI

The project aims to simlulate & understand the behaviour behind the Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis. It is an attempt to explore magnetic fields within a domain of charges, strength & decay. The project develops further into simulating the phenomena via means of particle behavior in the Earth’s Atmosphere, dissipating a gradient of colors as … Read more

BentArc

BentArc is a project crafted during the first term of the Digital Woodcraft Seminar. The site is at the Vallvidrera reservoir, situated on the outskirts of Barcelona. It was designed in 1865 for a hydraulic project that was carried out to bring drinking water to the old town of Sarrià. Today it is no longer used to supply water … Read more

Slime Molds Simulation

Natural Behavior This exercise focuses on exploring and understanding the behavior of Physarum polycephalum, a slime mold organism, through digital simulations. Different configurations and parameters will be investigated to observe how they affect the movement, reproduction, and growth of this organism. The goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the interactions of Physarum polycephalum … Read more

Sami’s Sound Hub

Music and Cultural Center Sami’s Sound Hub in Karasjok, Norway, innovatively blends Sami culture with avant-garde design. Inspired by catenary arches and hyperbolic forms, the Main Hall features strategically designed perforations and a central opening following hyperbolic geometry, playing with light and shadow. The walls showcase fractal snowflake patterns, influenced by the region’s cold temperatures. … Read more

Platefold Prefab

Design Approach Folded Structure System Folded plate surfaces, architectural marvels with interconnected planar elements, gain further dynamism through linear additions. These straight elements seamlessly integrate with the folded structure, enhancing both aesthetics and structural efficiency. The result is a visually striking and functionally optimized design, showcasing the harmonious blend of form and function in contemporary … Read more

Shelf-Scape

At the request of STORE STORE in London, we developed a proposal for a timber structure roof for an existing garage located specifically in Clissold Crescent, Hackney. The objective is to transform the space into a workshop. The project presented a unique challenge as it is planned in phases, necessitating a demountable design that can … Read more

Verdenlace

Manifesto “Verdenlace” is an urban park situated in Les Corts, designed to reconnect individuals with biodiversity while encouraging community participation through architectural interventions. The park’s functions aim to foster esteem and self-actualization among users. The structural form is derived from multiple aggregations and iterations of a simple module, adapting the space based on various parameters … Read more

AQUAPONIA I 2050 Hydroscape

STATEMENT Proposing an eco-conscious water management system through metabolic water treatment for co-living communities, this innovation project aims to repurpose water usages, effectively saving energy and optimizing resource allocation for wastewater management. ABSTRACT Our vision is to redefine the future of urban living by fostering sustainable activities that align together with the smart use of … Read more

Bookworm Pavilion

Computational Design 1 The “BookWorm” pavilion aims to foster a sense of learning through the creation of an interactive learning space. Most library and institutional structures are often intimidating for children. The aim was to create a landscape of books that invite children to explore and learn simultaneously. We wanted children to engage in “reading” … Read more

INvisible Transcendence

The Site The site chosen for our design intervention was Plaza de San Felipe Neri, Barcelona. The plaza is approximately 510 square meters characterized by three trees and a fountain included within the space. The red marks the trees, the blue marks the fountain and the green marks the main access route. Variables Design Evolution … Read more

SEED CATHEDRAL BY THOMAS HEATHERWICK

UK PAVILION AT SHANGHAI EXPO-2010 INTRODUCTION The UK pavilion at Expo 2010, colloquially known as the Seed Cathedral, was a sculpture structure built by a nine-member conglomeration of British business and government resources directed by designer Thomas Heatherwick. It referenced the race to save seeds from round the world in banks, and housed 250,000 plant … Read more

The Trabeculae Pavilion

A lightweight architecture completely 3D printed by a printer farm The Trabeculae Pavilion fuses advancements in 3D printing with bio-inspired computational design. The synergy of design, material and manufacturing technologies allowed the conceptualization of an innovative construction technique based on an additive process which builds architectural forms conceived with a load-responsive material organization. Concept The … Read more

Verdenlace – Kinetic shading structure

The idea is to used the design module which created in G2- Bio tech morphogenesis studio and make a adaptive shading structure using Programming & Physical Computing. Concept The Innovative algae panels integrated into structures enrich the surrounding air with oxygen through photosynthesis. Complementing this, kinetic shading devices dynamically adjust based on sunlight levels, efficiently … Read more
