The system is designed to facilitate regular bird-watching opportunities through the observation deck. Distinguishing between average bird flights in the troposphere and migratory bird flocks in the stratosphere from the other layers of atmosphere, it focuses on capturing stratospheric and Tropospheric activity. LEDs on the observation deck signify flock distance, alerting bird watchers to arrivals and maximizing sightings. Additionally, an Air Quality Index (AQI) sensor assesses air quality, a parameter influencing atmospheric visibility. Higher AQI levels may reduce visibility. The integration of Ultrasonic and AQI sensors plays a crucial role in optimizing bird sightings, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the observation deck.

WORK FLOW

The ultrasonic Sensor senses the activity through distances. It is programmed to capture only the activity of the stratosphere and troposphere ranging from 10km to 30 km. As the birds move closer into the radar of the sensor the number of LEDs lit on the observation deck increase indicating the arrival of a migratory bird flock. The AQI sensor (MQ-135) is connected to RGB lights which indicate the Air quality of the environment playing as one factor of indication for a clear visibility in the sky. The RGB light goes red on an AQI above 300 after which is considered poor for visibility and turns yellow and green to show moderate and good AQI simultaneously. Both these parameters can increase the opportunities of bird sightings thus enhance the performance of an observation deck in the day.

NEXT STEPS

The Ultra sonic HC-SR04 sensor range is 2cm to 400cm. Investigation on a sensor which can capture the ranges of higher distances for layers of atmosphere needs to be discovered. Balloon Borne sensors can be used to achieve the height but the range needs to be intensified.
