An analysis of the correlation between population and air quality in the districts of Barcelona.

The air quality in urban areas have rapidly declined over the years. In the process of economic development, air pollution has become a significant health hazard. This project analyses the relationship between population density and air quality levels in Barcelona.

Population of each district
This graph shows how the increase in population leads to reduction in air quality

NO2 and O3 are common air pollutants, and are generally used as indicator pollutants for fuel combustion and traffic-related air pollution.

These graphs show the NO2 and O3 values recorded per hour for each district

This analysis concludes that the district with the highest population: Eixample, is most affected by air quality decline.
