Does someone need a quick view of there grid shell structure along with some quick data like price, divisions, volume etc.., The Grid is a web app with provides us with takeoff quantity of a quick grid shell structure along with other supporting data.
The UI for the Grid web-app is inspirited from a website called speckle. The website has a minimal style of theme with mostly black color as primary color with white font and blue as accent color. The page has a huge Viewport and a small side bar for controls.
How it works
Upload 3dm – As a user we need to upload a 3dm file which contains a closed surface of our shell or the case of our grid shell. This one will determine the boundary and the shape of out gridshell.
Wood type – We can select four predefines type of woods like Walnuts, Oak, Maple and Balsa.
X, Y directions. – The number of division in both X and Y axis of our Shell surface. It ranges between min 10 to 25nos.
Laths width and height – we can provide the cross section width and height of the timber section. it ranges between 0.1 to 0.5 m.
Build – Computes the final output and geometry in the viewport.
Meta data
The web app provides us with a geometry and metadata such as Weight of the structure, Cross section display, Price for the material, Volume of the material needed, and center to center distance between the Laths.
