Located in northeastern Spain, on the shores of the Mediterranean, Barcelona has long been hailed as a European cultural capital. From its thriving art scene to its incredible architecture and world-famous gastronomy, here’s why an art and culture lover will fall head over heels for Barcelona. The intent of the whole project is to identify a curated art walk which can connect museums through art galleries. Through mapping all the Museums and art exhibits/ galleries/ installations in the city of Barcelona, we can try to create a different set of paths to identify curated journeys. This can in turn become like guide points and bifurcate them as per user interests.

A dashboard identifying Museums and Aart galleries in various Barris of Barcelona.

Stage 1: A dashboard is created to identify different Barris (neighbourhoods) where different museums and art galleries exist, in corelation with the number of these spaces that exist in each of these areas.

Identifying different routes connecting various museums through art galleries

Stage 2: Mapping all the routes connecting the museums through art galleries and creating multiple routes across different barris of Barcelona. While creating these routes there are always two alternatives, one connecteting only a museum to another and the other being through the art galleries to understand the complexities involved in creating a curated walk through art galleries.

Comparing the shortest walk and the walk through the art galleries

Stage 3: Looking into one of the Barris in detail and comparing how the two of the walks shape up giving us a fair idea in identifying a way through nearest art galleries within a 250m radius vs the shortest walk only connecting the two museums.
